I am currently using an 80gig for my OS(Win XP Pro) and other programs. I want and have the capability to run RAID 0 with my Asus P4C800-E Deluxe. So I bought identical Seagate HD and am unsure about the actual set-up. Do I have to reformat the HD that has my OS on it prior to setting up the RAID configuration?

Thanks guys, this forum rocks.

Yes you have to reformat both Drives before the Array Can be created.

Make sure to have the RAID Drivers Ready before Starting.

Yes, I have the Promise 378 RAID and SATA drivers both on floppy. I am confused on the order of operations. (1) RAID drivers (2) SATA drivers (3) HD reformats.

Also, in my Mobo Manual it says to "Connect one Serial ATA HDD to each Serial ATA connector, using seperate serial ATA cables". Wouldn't I connect each HD to the Sata RAID connectors I have on mobo.

Asus Manual
I am referring to page 136 (5-26) on #3
