Well if you can spare $25-$50 more, you can get the awesome 7800GT. Great, solid card. Or you can go with the 6800GS for $200. There really isn't a Nvidia card in the $200-$300 price range at the time, but I think that's the gap the 7800GS should fill.
You do have PCI-express too right? Because the 7800GT requires that.
no, you're pretty much right-on shawn. With the launch of the 6800GS, no one even considers the 6800GT. It's just not the best option. It's all out of whack with the price/performance ratio.
Yea definetly, I didn't mention the 6800GT because as Irish said, the 6800GS is basically on par with it ... for ~$75 cheaper. I'd expect the 7800GS to have similar clocks of the 7800GT but with 16 pipes. I'd say that would close to gap between Nvidia's cards.
