does this drive and case work together?

i told a friend to buy this cd drive before knowing he had a weird computer (dimension 4600c) it's cd drive is a slim i believe so this one doesnt fit.

It looks like that is a hard drive enclosure, so it wont really help.

it should work, you bought the bigger enclosure that supports 5.25 devices, and you can barely tell from the pic on new egg that theres a slot in the front for the dvd drive.
