Yes, I posted a link a while ago that explained the science in this, but I dont want to google either :) Yes it's true your FPS is limited by your refresh rate. Thats why I have a nice monitor that does 120Hz at 1024x768, and 100Hz at 1280x1024. Also, you should never have your refresh rate lower than 75HZ, it can damage your eyes overtime if you keep it lower.

I'm with 003 here, I once had a crt on 60 hz. It looked OK once I got sued to it but it gave me headaches and my eyes hurt. Now I'm using an LCD though, I prefer it over any CRT, thats my preference though. For me in games anything over 50 fps looks fine. I dont know how people can stand 20-30, it just looks so bad and gives me a headache...Although people who can stand 20 fps can turn their settings up higher. Id ratehr have low quality if I have to if it means 50 or more fps.
