thats what happens to me when I replace these latop harddrives...they stop on this part and thats it, so then it take my ERD commander and copy the files to the network and buy a new one. Can you get back in windows and do a defrag?

I can get into safe mode. What is ERD commander and copy? I defragged my HDD less than 2 weeks ago. But I could do it again if you think it's a soln to the problem. i tried to get into safe mode with networking and that wouldn't work. My roomie has a big HDD so I could maybe xfer the data from my COMP to his and then back to the new HDD>

try a defrag again if you think it might help....

do you have the windows cd?

The windows CD is back at home I'm at school now. But I am having it sent up to me from my house. It should be here 2 days. ERD sounds cool but it looks a little to pricy for me.

I would do a repair on windows. ERD is a lifesaver.....

now I can't boot into safe mode. I guess I must be screwed huh?

pretty much...what about last known good config?

I tried that and it brought up nothing. I don't think I ever set up a last know config

I don't think it will be that big a deal to just start over. All I had was music and some old papers and games on my comp.

LKGC is installed, you dont need to do anything. Your best bet is to start over.
