geez threepwood is right. that is HOT!!! i would check that out. that would also explain why games are performing slowly, its a protection method

Yep...That Prescott core will "feather back" at higher temperatures. At that temp, you are getting close to haveing that Prescott shut you down via it's internal CPU core temperature protection architecture!
