black screen ???

i'm having a problem with my comp. i dont know if that's related to either a hardware issue or software's.
i think that my problem began when i installed accidently a software called acrobat album photoshop...forgot the right name. uninstalled the prog then restarted my os and now i notice after 8 or 9 bars (when the windows logo comes on) my comp hangs on a black screen for about 8 seconds or so before i have the windows welcome page (know wha i mean).
since then i cant get my comp fixed. i did all :

using cleaning up utility
running both ad-aware and spybot (even in safe mode)
running my AVG anti-virus
dowloading new driver for my video card
deleting temporary files
doing all that with no sucess. now i'm stuck. does anybody have an idea on how to fix that problem i dont want to format my drive.

Sounds like something got corrupted dude. Try Restore to a previous date & ya should be Ok!

thankx Kboy for your response. i did a system restore but this doesnt seem to fix the prob.
any other help plz coz this f*** black screen is really starting to piss me off !!
