hibernation

i use hibernate alot, as it is quick to load.

is there a time limit to log on after you have resumed? i often turn the comp on and then go to the toilet/make breakfast/etc and when i come back the comp is off. when i turn it on it re-resumes from hibernation, i log on and its fine.

ok its like this.

1. i turn on pc
2. i go away to do something
3. the pc resumes to login box
4. when i get back it is off
5. i turn it on again, and resume the session

something like that, but only if it isnt logged on yet.

im just wondering if this is normal? its quite annoying, is it possible to turn it off?

That isn't normal. Hibernation will not re-enable, unless you have a trigger. ie, a power setting that does it after x minutes, or a task of some kind. Try and watch it, see what happens and what the time line is. Need very good details on this, as that will be the only way to isolate the issue.

go to display, power, settings for home/office.. what are those set on? then go to hibernation to see if it is even enabled.
