Disabling a service slows down my computer?

I disabled services based on the list from majorgeeks.com. After doing so I noticed my computer would freeze for a second every once in a while. Also, after installing FEAR and using the default settings the game would run a little choppy. I'm using a 3200+ proc, 1gb ram, and a 6600gt video card, so FEAR should run without problems right?

Does anyone know what service could be the cause of this or is there any way to restore your services to the default?

go back and put all the ones you tuned off, and put them back ok. It should be running fine with your specs. Did you update your VC drivers?
