To my knowledge, it doesn't hurt to leave the computer on 24/7, so long as the environment isn't dusty or dirty. My previous job, I worked for a small, local CO-OP. It was very dusty inside, and everybody left their computers on. We kept burning them up, because they got so dusty inside, air couldn't move, but I couldn't convince people to turn their computers off at night.
 
My computer used to be on with me... Id kill it before I went to sleep, and turn it on when I woke up... But now its pretty much on 24/7. I think my longest uptime was 220 hours...
 
I don't care about the electric bill....I just want to make sure that I'm not doing unecessary damage to my computer by leaving it on all the time. By the feedback I'm getting I would conclude that as long as the dust is not excessive than I should be ok.
 
leave it on if you use it every few hour ya should be fine as long as it is well cooled ya know with a few fans so i say leave it on.
