So I need to add a second hard drive to my compaq model sr1130nx which has this motherboard A7V8X-LA (Kelut)

It says the mobo has two sata conectors, but I don't know if the system will just recognize the hd if I plug it in. I know I can just plug in a ide hd and it works fine but this mobo/bios is garbage. So can I just plug in the sata hd and have it work or is there more to it than that.

on a side note does anyone know why this mobo would support a 400 mhz fsb but only pc 2700 memory. thats really gay.

thanks yall

well, the answer to your first question is yes. You should be able to just plug it in and AWAY IT GOES! But, you never know. Sometimes things just don't work right.

you may need to install SATA drivers. that may come with the drive or you might have come with your computer,...might have to order it from them, i dunno.
