I'm purchasing a p4 2.8e processor and was wondering what would be the best heat sink/fan setup to keep it running as cool as possible. I plan on doing some mild overclocking and it will be running on a gigabyte ga-81k1100 motherboard. Also any recommendations on power supplies and ram would be useful too, but I mostly want to know about the heat sink.

I use a Termalright SLK model and I would argue that its among the best, especially for the money.

Go here and check out the one that you need (for that socket type). Note that these heatsinks do NOT have fans, so youll need to purchase one seperately. I opted for a Vantec Tornado, but I donnot reccomend them to the average PC user because they (literally) sound like a hairdryer.

My temps are (case/CPU): 28/33 idle 36/40 load.

Thanks for the help looks like a quality piece. One question though they show it with no fan, but they give specs for max airflow. does it come with a fan or do you have to buy it separately?
