monitor distortion

ok... i just got a new A8N SLI mobo with a AMD 64 2x 4200+, along with a new BFG 7800GT OC...when i boot up my computer the screen is distored enough to where i cant read whats on it...is my card defected ???

how do i clear CMOS...and what does RMA it mean ?

The little battery on the motherboard, Unclip it and take it out for 2 minutes with the Power supply off and AC cord out. That is clearing the CMOS.

RMA = Return to Manufactures Address.

Distorted how? That could be a problem with the video card, it could be the monitor can't support the refresh rate the card is pushing out.

Is it distorted as soon as you boot up, or only when you geta splash screen from your OS. WHich OS are you booting?
