Is there effective soundproofing foam out there?

I was looking into silent cases by Lian Li, but I really do want an acrylic side window and a fairly flashy system, without the hassle of lots of noise.

Is there soundproofing foam out there, and would it be effective in a case with 3-4 80mm case fans?

There is a 'sound-proofing' foam, but it's expensive, messy and hard to control. Search for it on Home Depots site. I think that's where I saw it last. If you can't find it there, do a search on some Music Stores.

hmm try spreading tar on the inside of your computer case. well it works on cars doesn't it? ha

If the soundproof foam is so inefficient, is there a better way? Should I buy heat-activated fans to lessen the amount of fans being used and their respective speed/noise?
