Geforce 7800 GTX 512 Meg SLI'd is currently the best

They may be Geforce 7800 GT 256 Meg "quad" but I am not up do date on that.

Also the G80/G81 Series are coming out soon supposidly.

all are ungodly expensive and will run you +800 USD per card (double if SLI or x4 for this quad technology).

Nvidia cards based on the G71, and later on, the G80 core (I think they'll be called Geforce 7900 and Geforce 8800)
ATI cards based on the R580 core (I think will be called X1900)

March - 7900GTX.

Announcement for X1900 - January.
Shipment of X1900 - Quarter 1, 2006.

NOTE: The X1900 only has 16 pipes.

Hmmm will the price of the 7800GT/X go down after these cards come out? Or are they already planned to fill in different price line?

What about the 7800GS... I'm thinking of getting a GT, but if the GS is comming out soon, with somewhat comparable performance, I'd get on so I could SLi them later, sooner than getting another GT.

The R580 has 48 pixel processors, or should we say pixel shaders, while it still has only sixteen pipelines.

From your own source.

I said that from day one, to H3LL with all the Unified Shader Architecture BS.

So you're saying the GPU in the Xbox 360 sucks, and you're also saying that the G80 is going to suck? The R580 is basicly the GPU from the 360, of course they are a little different, but very similar.

does anyone know how much the g80's will approximately be?

i might just take advantage of that evga step up program
