i want to know which is faster hard drive the raptor which is sata150 and rpm of 10k and 8mb cache or a sata300 which has rpm 7200 8mb cache

Im pretty sure the differnece between the SATA150 and 300 would be noticable. And they have the same cache. But if the raptor has 10000rpm then its probably faster. But you would probably want an opinion from someone who has experinced it firsthand.

the interface hardly matters, as the SATA150 with 10k rpm is the faster of the two and puts out 90-something mb/s at times ....which is well below the 150mb/s maximum of SATA150. go with the one with higher rpms...that will give you performance. until harddrives can actually put out data that fast, which SATA interface really doesn't matter right now in most cases

The Raptor kicks the 7200rpm's butt. It's like adding 5 extra lanes to a highway that isn't even normally crowded. Just because there's more bandwidth between component to component, the hard drive doesn't magically become faster.
