Hi. I'm looking to buy a new computer as the one I'm currently using is almost 6 years old. I was wondering if anyone experienced can tell me if this would be a good purchase for a good price:

I don't have enough experience to build my own PC, but it's something I look to do in the future, but not today. I just want an out of the box PC that runs decent, not looking to run any new aged games or anything.

Thanks in advance.

Graphics card suks, and It could use some more ram, other than that it's ok... a little pricy though...

Heh, considering how much my dad payed for this PC and how much my sister payed for hers (mind you, they purchased through futureshop, which is a good thing for me because now I won't get suckered by them) it seems relatively cheap to me. I'm not much of a big spender, so I do well at saving money. And also, I'm Canadian, so there's a bit of a currency difference. Just in case you didn't notice.

Yeah, the graphics card seemed a bit iffy, but I'm using one of leeeeeess value and I do just fine. I can probably just buy another stick of RAM later on. :)

Anyways, thanks for your opinions. I'll think about it some more. Oh, and I'm not sure I'm willing to purchase online. Sorry, it's just a problem I have with that. :)

Edit: Maybe this one would be a better purchase? http://www.computeravenue.mb.ca/systems/ca_alpha.htm Biggest difference is the harddrive, and I don't even need that much space, to be honest. CPU takes a bit a dive, too, but my current computer isn't even over a gig. :p

Or maybe even: http://www.computeravenue.mb.ca/systems/ca_epsilon.htm ?

WOW!!!!!!!

That literally *literally* made me laugh.

To answer your question "would this be a good purchase"....

NO.

I'm glad I was able to make you literally laugh and allow you to spout your elitist views upon me. I am ever so grateful. Thank you very kindly, sir. [/sarcasm]

In all seriousness, I wouldn't get that rig because 1) 64 meg video cards are dinosaurs and 2) it is integrated which means you won't be able to upgrade if needed. May I ask what you want to do with the computer?

Ignorant fool, if you had half a brain you'd read what he said and not jump to conclusions.

The only reason I'd say no is because of the price. The video card is more than you'd need, but hey, more is better than not enough.
