I've got a TS-L532A DVD writer and I'm running WinXP pro SP2. According to Google this model drive supports ultra DMA 2. In device manager I've set the IDE connection on which the drive is (IDE channel 0, device 1) to "DMA if supported". In BIOS too the drive is as using ultra DMA 2.
However when I look in device manager, it shows the "current transfer mode" as PIO. It's performance shows it. My motherboard can definitely support DMA, as the HD (on the same IDE channel) uses ultra DMA 5.
What to do?
