Opty 148 Vs. Athlon 3700

Which one should I get, as far as I can see they're identical in the speeds, cache, blablabla. I want to get the one that runs cooler and overclocks better. Thanks!

Your a little late with the Opterons, getting away from the good ones but the 3700+ has been out lately also, your choice

3700+ cooler
Opty higher OC but hotter temps

but i cant tell you if the Opty will OC higher, its just been proven based on multiple people's results between teh 3700+ and Opty

yes...look at my sig...that's on stock cooling with a pretty crappy artic silver 5 application...

i was pushing 2.75ghz @ 1.525v-1.550v for a while, but my temps got a little high due to the messy as5. If I reapplied my as5 and put on an upgraded hsf, I know it could hit 2.8

that's on a mobo not designed to be a good overclocker and with a cpu that is definitely not one of the "good" steppings.

My temps before I overclocked never saw 50*C under full load...OC'd it gets to 54*C...stock heatsink.
