Using this purely for gaming

2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz - 4 x 512MB

256MB PCI-Express x16 NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7800 GTX

160 GB Serial ATA 7,200 rpm w/ 8MB Cache

or

AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 4200+ with HT Tech

2048MB DDR400 Memory - PC3200 (2x1024)

256MB nVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX - TV-Out + DVI - PCI-Express

600GB (2x 300GB Serial ATA Hard Drives)

e.g Which of these could easily play battle field 2

But do this - RAID0 the 2 hard drives together, that will make the maps load faster, making the game load quicker. Also, AMD repeatedly wins benchmarks at gaming.

Ok thx. How long will them specs be able to play top games. and willl it easily surpass the bf2 requirements which is 2.4ghz processor.?

No one can really say how long it will last for being able to play top games, probably a while though unless a whole change in videogame/videocard arcitexture is done. As for bf2, **** yes you will be able to play bf2 NO PROBLEM with that rig.

That setup will most definetly play any game you wish to play just fine. Just be careful with the rest of your hardware selection if you're building it from scratch.

A little off topic, but PZEROFGH, what is X-ray of in the background of your verification image?

Edit: Or is that smoke? *confused*
