My monitor is making a high pitch noise...

I have a ViewSonic UltraBrite A91f+ monitor. I have had it for about a year and a half. Yesterday i started making this high pitch noise, its coming from the rear of the monitor. It stops when I turn it off. If I turn my monitor off and leave it off for a while, I can turn it back on and it wont make the noise for a little bit. Is this a sign that my monitor is about to die/be messed up? I havent had it THAT long. Any help is much appreciated.

I have a viewsonic A90f+

It also makes this noise when it's in the off state with power, but will not do this when unplugged or when fully turned on.

Just letting you know your not the only one with this problem.

couldn't tell you what's causing it without actually looking inside the monitor, but I think it might be safe to get a new one

I think the problem has to do with the refresh rates of the monitor. Adjust the refresh rate until you find one that doesn't make the noise.

its nothing major, just turn the monitor off and on a few times, its not like the monitor's damaged...

I 2nd the refresh rate suggestion. I had that problem here at work. Imagine HAVING to sit in front of a monitor thats squealing at you for 8 hours. I changed the refrest rate from 60 to 75Hz and it disappeared.
