3dMark06 arrives wednesday!

Futuremark, usually releasing their 3dMark series of benchmarks every other year has decided that graphics today are advancing way too fast to wait another year to drop 3dMark07, so they are releasing it early as 3dMark06. From the way it looks, our graphics cards are in for one heck of a beating and you will need SLI to get about 10 fps in this one.

11 FPS ON DUAL 7800GTXs! Its going to eat my 6600GT alive!

So now I feel for Pepsiboy who bet his friend that he could get 8000 on 3DMark with a $1000- build, lol. He got a 7800GTX, but 8000? Don't think so

And this is only at 1024x768! I'm hoping this isn't a foreshadow of what to expect with Unreal Engine 3 and other engines comming in the next year.

I think I might win: 0
my TNT2 won't even run 3dmark03, although it gets up to 1600 in 3dmark01 (when it's heavily overclocked)

however my FX-5200 might be able to run it (although maybe at 0.1fps)

my TNT2 wouldn't have to worry about freezing, it won't even run 03 because of hardware incompatibility
