Hello,

I have 2 HDD's

300Gb Sata (Partitioned 114gb / 140 gb / 140gb)
and 120 GB IDE 150 (Partitioned 60gb / 75gb / 10 gb)

I have windows xp running on one drive , how can I get a new windows xp on the other drive without , changing the main system windows.

I want to use the 300 drive for main windows , the one I use every day, and the other windows as a kind of backup or for other special software.

Can I get two windows on 1 drive ? What software would help me
Or can I simply install another windows, when booting the second drive and then standard boot the first drive's windows as a daily standard?

Hope you can enlighten me

have a good day

OK ,

I installed windows two times on two different drive

Named one " Microsoft Windows XP Professional"
and the other
"Windows Backup" by using the guide I was recommended.

Now I formatted the Windows backup and reinstalled a second time,
now when I look, I have three different Windows Roots/

Microsoft Windows XP Professional /fast detect
Microsoft Windows XP Professional /fast detect
Windows Backup

From which the latter one now is not an operating system anymore but still is listed. I need to remove this. How can I

go to the xp you want to keep or that you know is good, go to start, run, type msconfing, go to boot.ini and click on check all boot paths and it will tell you there is an invalid entry, click ok to remove

I went to System Properties, and Advance --> Start and Restore --> then edited the boot.ini and it seems to work

thank you
