About how many more years (or months) can i expect a GeForce 6800 256mb graphics card to run the newest games? I had this in my PC and it seemed to be a great card, and I'm considering it in a laptop I am about to purchase.

You mean the GS? GT? or just regular 6800?

can you get it in a laptop? It also depends on the brand and if you have/will OC it. Look on the manufacturer's website, and it will say something like 60,000 hours (that's not right, just a random number). That is how long it will last you, minus a couple thousand if you OC

the regular 6800 - and yes i can get it in a laptop - and I'm more so looking at compatibilty and performance than an actual # value for how long it will last - like will it still have solid performance with the newest games one year from now?

I dont think so...I predict you'll be struggling a little bit if you don't OC.

any idea if i will be able to overclock this card effectivly so that I will be able to have solid performance?:

256MB PCI-Express nVidia GeForce GO 6800 w/GDDR3

(only reason I'm asking is because it IS on a laptop and I've never attempted or heard much about OC'ing in notebooks)

As far as laptop video cards go, there isn't much better option out there.
