Jumper Question

ok, i just put my 7800 into the bottom PCI-E slot. the jumpers are on Normal. Do i have to switch them or will both slots run at 16x? My chipset is not SLi

if you have SLI, either both slots will run at 8X, or one will run at 16X and one will run at 2X, unless you have a certain board which supports 16X for both slots, although that doesn't really make much of a difference
having it at 8X/8X is recommended over 16X/2X

if you have a single card, it will run at 16X

The jumper settings for a single card are on page 69 of your manual:

The SLI settings are on page 68.

When in single card mode, the top PCI-E slot is x16, the bottom one is x2.

Not that I saw in the manual.

It's either the top or x2.

ok, well i couldn't get those jumpers out because i have big fingers . but i put it back into the top slot and its reading at 16x. but why is it recommended at 8x/8x?? do i get better performance at 16x?
