I barely got my new system running with a new hard drive and I was planning on copying my old data from my old hard drive. But when I try to go into the user folder "Jose" - which is where everything was at - it will say "Access Denied. Folder is unaccessible" I also tried to boot up from the old hard drive ONLY and it would not boot up. It would go to the "System did not start up properly last time" screen and ask for which start up. Safe Mode or Normal Mode does not boot up at all. Does anyone know how to get the data from my old drive?

Is it WinXP Pro? If so, you can change ownership of the folder, and then be able to change permissions on it to be able to move it around.

If you do have XP Pro, I'll explain it a bit better. I just dont want to do all that typing if you dont ;)

yea the old hard drive had XP Pro on it. The new one has Media Center Edition - which is just about the same as Pro to me.

Thanks for responding too. I was starting to think no one was going to help :D
