hi. im planning to build a pc for my friend mb as a present. (it depends on how much it would be) and he hates windows. (well..so am i..) he hates pc. hes a hardcore mac user. but i want him to play BF2 cuz it perfectly fits his liking. so i wanna built him a basically BF2 console. i might have to progam it so only BF2 opens up at start and nothing else. cuz he seriously hates pc that he doesn even wanna touch it or see the logo. so i have to convince him that this build is not a PC its a BF2 console, for now..but hes gotta have to update software and stuff tho..mb even wanna put mac osx theme on windows. but anyway, so im asking u guys some help for the parts. theres a few requirments.

1. BF2 has to run smoothly at max settings at at least1024x768.
2. has to be small like micro ATX.
3. doesn has to be look good at all
4. ill buy from anywhere if its cheap. (ebay, personal seller, even hand made parts, etc..)

pls give me some advice of the cheapest possible build u can think of. thx!
and pls remember that this pc is ONLY gonna be used for BF2 nothing else.
so i don need floppy disk or even dvd writer. only needs dvd-rom drive. and small HD too.

If you friend hates pc's so much, go buy him a pansy xbox 360.
ok u r not helping me at all...and no i wont buy xbox. end of story.
+ dont u know who makes xbox?

Ok... well this doesnt really make sense because your bf2 console will run you quite a lot of cash and he doesnt really seem to be into a PC. To play it perfectly you'll probably need a 7800gt and 2 gigs of ram. Micro ATX motherboards kind of suck because the cooling in them is crap. Seems like a waste if all he wants to do is BF2, Im with the other guy just get an xbox.

You want him to run BF2 on max settings? This isn't going to come out cheap.
I'd say get this to play BF2 nicely, but you might not get full AA and AF with the graphics. If you get a 7800GT though, it may but the motherboard and processor will bottleneck your performance. If that's the case, just get a socket 939 Motherboard (MSI K8N Neo4-F), and an AMD 3200 Processor. If you want it to be cheaper, get this:
BIOSTAR TForce Micro ATX Motherboard (disable onboard gfx) 60$

AMD Sempron 64 3000+ Socket 754 76$ w/ combined mobo above
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819104241

eVGA 6600GS 200$

1/2GB Corsair Valueselect - 80-160$

Some cheap nice case - 50$

DVD-Rom - 20$

80 Gig WD Caviar Serial ATA - 55$

Fortron Source 450W PSU/Antec 500W - 50$-70$

-----
600-750$

850$ if 7800GT.

Remember, the motherboard and cpu aren't the best, but if it's only for BF2 you shouldn't have any problems.

well most hard core mac users hates windows/microsoft.
they r like unti-windows ppl = most apple users.
well for me..i don care as long as it does the job i want.
so i have pc and mac. but my main comp is in fact mac.
i only think PC as an expensive game machine.

Well, from what you have told me, he sounds like a rich spoiled Biased Chav.

Let me get this strait...

He doesnt want to surf the internet on it...
He wants an OSX theme, he doesnt even want to look at MSXP.
He hates pc's but loves mac.
He doesnt care to look at any games but BF2.
He wants the *absolute* cheapest build for BF2, but wants all AA, AF, and 1024x768.

WOW. Just... Just wow.
