opteron 246 overclocking

hello ,

i m really really new to overclocking n knw almost nothing about it.
i am getting a dual opteron 246, 4GB corsair 333 ECC, ASUS K8N-DL
and Geforce Quadro FX 1400

as i posted a topic earlier my work is mainly animation n editing

need to know about overclocking and do i really need this ?

It's not needed.

2GBs of ram is enough, do not go over

A lower Opteron or X2 will suit you fine, your origanal choice is not good

ASUS is a good mobo maker but you don't need a server mobo just get a X2 or entry level opteron and get a 939 mobo

Your video card though I do not entirely recommend will suit you fine and is Vista suppported. But if you don't get a server mobo then you want a 7800 GT
