Reinstallation of Windows XP

I bought a 2nd hand computer with unregistered XP pro installed. I would like to replace it with registered XP Home OS.
How this can be done without harming HD partition, existing files and folders?

with a lot of difficulty unless there is unpartitioned space on the hdd. you would need something like partition magic 7. if the disc you have is the upgrade version then it won't be a problem.

You can downgrade. It would be best to backup your files and install the Home version unless you can find akey for pro

somebody should make a program that lets you downgrade windows versions...its such a pain to reformat every time you wanna downgrade!
