question about compromised emails

hello

need everyone's help please

somehow my hotmail account has been hacked or taken over. it is being used to post messages etc on forums and now i am worried that it might be used for more

it is probably someone who might have emailed me or i replied. not sure

please help me figure out what i should do

is there any utiliites i can use?

i am deleting that account-would that help?

how do you know its being used? Have you changed all your info? passwords, secret question/answers?

also i have deleted that account

do you think this person has my IP address. ? can he hack into my computer also ?

It depends what he did and what you did. Your best bet is just to get a new e-mail address, notify all of your old contacts of it and tell them to totally disregard any e-mail sent from your previous e-mail address.

The question you pose about him being able to "hack" into your computer is questionable at this time - you haven't provided any other information for us to speculate

oh..when i say hack..i am thinking if he has my email account..

1. does he have my ip address
2. if he does can an ip address used to hack

frankly i have no idea how people hack into computers...so thats why i am wondering if someone can do that through knowing my IP address
