Okay so I am scrapping the 6800GS and I want to get a 7800GT.

The problem is that I only have $300, so I want the best. I hear eVGA alot but the last card I got from them was damaged. Someone at a shop told me MSI is good and overclocks very well. I want a good overclocker, and I want to play all current games fully maxxed out. System specs now:

AMD Opteron 165
G.Skill DDR600 1gb (2x512mb)
DFI Lanparty Expert
FSP 600W PSU
WD 120GB HDD
eVGA 6800GS (busted)

I should be able to play all games maxxed out with a 7800GT and this correct?

I want the highest quality and best overclocking 7800GT for under $300 basically. This is what I have found, but there might be better, who knows!

That one has the copper heatsink which leads me to believe it will overclock better than this one- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130247 .

I need to know soon, thanks!

Make sure you get an eVGA 7800GT ending with the part number "AX". The one with the copper heatsink does not have it, and the one without does. The ones that end in AX are the ones with the lifetime warranty that covers overclocking etc... If you want one with a lifetime warranty and a copper heatsink, you need the N517-AX, which is slightly more than $300

I would go with the copper heatsink either way, unless you plan on putting on a different heatsink afterwards.

Yes, it covers overclocking, and you can even put an aftermarket cooler on it and it wont void the warranty. The only thing that voids the warranty is physical damage.

I don't think he bought the 6800gs, I think he was thinking about upgrading to the 6800gs but decided to go one step higher and get the 7800gt. His sig says he has a geforce ti 4400 atm.
