I just picked up another 512MB stick of ddr pc2700(my others are 2x256 pc2100, so I know have all 3 slots full) for my Asus a7n266 NForce1 board. I installed it and it was recognized just fine.

But I noticed that Firefox and IE started to crash every time I ran them within 5-10minutes. I had just installed firefox 1.5 so I thought it was perhaps due to that, but I went ahead and pulled the ram out, and now my system is running fine.

I did not see any other problems in my other applications (which is strange).

Anyone have any ideas what is going on here? Bad ram? Bad MOBO ram slot?

check voltages, often makes your comp crash, also try just with the 512 stick

Funny you mention voltages. My asus probe monitor always has a voltage alarm when I run it. What ranges of +12V and +5V are fine? My 12V seems to read about 13.3 on average but drops down to 5-7V for a secon or two then goes back to 13. Is this normal or am I looking at a dying power supply?

And how would a power supply problem account for these applications not crashing after I removed the ram?

Thanks.
