Well, On pretty much all tech forums (Except this one, before I set them straight), they are reguarded As

POS's
Crap
worthless
overpriced

Now for the facts. TT's only look good but inside they have cheap components. And they are definitly not "Overclocking" power supplies, which is also why they aren't regaurded as good on many sites.

I dare you to ask "Are Thermaltake Power supplies good"
On anyone of these sites.

Oh right ok, which 500W PSU would you recomend, i dont want to spend too much money you see

my friends think that the company i got it from will see that i made a mistake, but what i think is that its worth a try

Well, don't spend money if you don't have to. Even though it hurts me to say this: Use the replacement until you have saved at least 60 Bucks then come back and ask.

ok well i am willing to spend "60 bucks" lol, i think thats about £35whis is what i think i paid for the TT one. Once i have more money i will drop back a line

We get ripped off on all PSU's except for Hiper - only because it is made in the UK - which is £65 but with that you get the best modular PSU, that is IMO the best looking (its like a sapphire (is it double P?))

For £40 there is the Enermax Noisetaker 370W, which will be good, and has enough watts for a beefy system, just not for the 6800gt and X800 series and above cards.

ah, i have an X800GTO, so the Enermac is a no for me. Which would you recomend Trifid?

Modular power supplies aren't that great even if they are OCZ, enermax or Hiper. The way the connectors are desgined adds resistence therefore the voltages drop.

And Like I said. Post a Link to the Siet you want to order off of.
