sound card

I got this new sound card and itsnot working even though it is listed as working but i do have 2 multimedia control devices showing in device manager at the same time Is there a conflict
how do you get rid of one of them i tried to disable and uninstall one of them in device manager and that did not work. I s there something in bios that i can disable ,then maybe my sound card plug in will work

Could one be an onboard sound card (on your motheboard). And the other could be the pci one? There should be place in the BIOS to disable onboard sound cards, just look around for it. If not, and your pc is an older one, it might be on the motherboard with a jumper to turn it on or off.

Did your new card come with an instalation cd? I would suggest running any drivers that came on that, or looking for new drivers on the internet. What brand and model is your card?
