hdd activities drivin me crazy

hi all ...
i m workin at home and i m doin my projects w photoshop , my system s :
athlon x64 3000+ 939
asus a8n5x m.b
2x512 ddr400 spectek
200gb sata maxtor diamondmax
6600gt 128mb pixelview
... the system works fine , i have no problem in any games .. and also no problem when i m workin w 3d max , corel and other graphic softwares ...
but the system s almost dead ! in photoshop ... whenever i m tryin to click an icon ,to choose a tool , the hdd start workin , and system stops for a bout a min ! i donno wat s it doin ..
it takes so much time w h.d.d activities , it s drivin me crazy , most of times i just sit and wait my hdd to stop workin ..then i can start usin the selected tool ! have u any idea ? wat s goin on in my pc ?
anybody can help me ?

go to start, run, type msconfig, go to startup, click disable all then go back and recheck your antivirus and reboot. Photoshop could be conflicting with something or may be corrupted possibly.

it s just runnin worse & worse ...
when i m workin w photoshop , without doin anything special , suddenly hdd start workin for bout 5 to 10 mins .. and i cant do anythin , ...
it s drivin me veryyy crazy ... help plz ...

wow .. it s just really gettin worse ... f***ed me up ...

every 10 to 15 mins , hdd start workin really crazy ... and stop after 5 to 10 mins ... ( somitimes more ) i just cant do anything w this damned activities , i donno wat s goin on in my hdd , 5 to 10 mins is just enough to move gigs of datas ! while i m workin w a just a 80 mb file !!!!!!
i uninstalled it , deleted all datas , defragment all used drives and reinstall it again .. nothin happen , w the first run , it s just happened again ...
i installed my photoshop on my sister s old pc , pentium D 2.8 , 512 mb ram , and 80 gb hard ... less free space , less ram , photoshop s workin slower but THERE S NO HDD ACTIVITES ...
somebody help me plzzzzzzz

your hdd might be dyin. Have you ran checkdisk yet or defrag?
