The reason for the price gauging from AMD is lack of competion.
Nothing can touch the performance of the FX CPU's so naturally they'll get what they want price wise .
While Intel is looking very promising in there new line of CPU's
there still not able to compete with the high end Processors from AMD.
Hopefully Intel will pull somthing out of there hat by the end of the year.
We are seeing the same thing in the high end VC's .
Grant it Ati's new x1800xt is a very good card but there still subpar with Nvidias cards.So nvidia's 7800 GTX 512 is priced at 700+ . If i were to buy a VC today id get the x1800xt for the price/performance aspect . But i reframed from upgrading last month becuase of the newer CPU's coming out PLUS both Nvidia and ATi have new VC's soon to be released(wich is somthing i did not anticipate in such a short time frame) glad i waited

Pathetic! All it is is an overclocked 4400+. I could eastilly overclock my 4400+ to that speed. Same FSB, Same Speed, Same Cache, Same Core, Same Processor. Bam I just saved myself 800 USD (excluding the cost of good fans for cooling).

Well you can't say that it doesn't help in overclocking. Means that you can stick ram to a 1:1 ratio, so it is only the CPU maxing out. Still, I will pay for some GSkill stuff instead.
