These are my computer specifications.

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+
RAM: 2*512mb
Graphics Card: GeForce FX 5200
Motherboard: 760M
4*PCI 32Bit
1*AGP 32Bit
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies
OS:Windows XP Pro SP2
Max Screen Res:1024*768
HDD: 3 Partisions 60,60,30

OK now. I want to buy a new graphics card, and i founf 6600GT thats is a good performance and medium budget card. Now i have some questions

1) Is this worth it with my system?
2)Which one to buy, PCI or AGP?
3)If i buy PCI will i be able to connect my 2 graphics cards?
4) If yes, is it worth it. Will it boost the performance?
5) Feel free to suggest mid budget graphics card?

Thanx in advance

1) Definatley, I have a 7800gt with my 3000

2) You have to get AGP, as PCIE is not the same as PCI.

3) hyperthetically speaking, no. But you could use the 5200 to link up more monitors.

4) SLI/crossfire isn't worth it

5) 6800 vanilla, 6800GS, the 6800XT may be an good card.

So in order for me to use PCIE then my motherboard should have PCIE. How do i find out what my motherboard has, its says inb TweakXp that has PCI. So thats wont do.

Do you think i should get 6600GT or 6800LE ??

I had a look and 6800 has lower core clock and memory clock than 6600GT

If yes on 6600LE, XT, TD 128mb or 256??

If i get 128 will it work OK??

thanx

any 6800 series card will outperform any 6600 series card. Go with the 6800 vanilla if it's in your budget. The clock speeds and memory speeds are not how you decide to purchase a video card. They use different cores and aren't comparable to the frequency they run at.

PCIe is a the new standard for graphics card expansion slots. Here's a crash course in them:

More than likely you don't have it if you don't know what it is. Especially if you've been using another video card and you still don't know what it is. I bet you have an AGP slot, and will need to find a corresponding AGP video card.

good point - If you could spare like US$20 more dollars, you could get this: http://www.clubit.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A9602599&cmp=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r

and it's free shipping.

I've bought from them, and they are great, just not a big company a lot of people have heard of.

see here its the prob, i am in uk and cannot register in that site. Thats why i asked you for the above, if you think they are ok as i am registered in their site and they have next day delivery
