I have an optical mouse and have noticed they do not glide well on traditional cloth mousepads. A smooth, dark, hard surface like a table seems to be just fine for an optical mouse but the the 4 little plastic "skid plates" or "skid shoes" on the underside of the mouse wear out over time and make movements rough. Do they sell replacements for those?

they do make mousepads that are not cloth, i have one with a plastic surface, it was a freebie with my computer (dell)

Secret Tip #1001

Tried and True: Furniture Polish

Use a generous amount of furniture polish on the bottom surface of an optical mouse. For best results, Spray polish on a rag or cloth, the wipe the bottom portion of the mouse surface. Make sure you don't apply polish to the area of the optical eye. Just the surrounding surface...

Get ready for the slickiest moving mouse you've ever used... Perfect for FPS games or Photoeditting... Less friction....
