wow. something as stupid as screws was stopping me this whole time. hahaha. Thanks for the help, it works now, I love it.

maybe the screws were contacting the wrong parts of the board, do you have rubber ends or something?

No, he just didn't have the risers set on the back panel of the case before he put on the motherboard, so he was shorting it. Hehe, I did the same thing.

And I'm happy you got it working, it's really cool the first time you start up a new computer and it works. Do you have any cuts? Heh, it's not a first build without bloody hands!

Yeah I definitely got a few cuts on each hand although I never noticed them right away, it would be later the night I would find them and say "well damn" As for the make/model of my ps, here is all I could find
Power Supply: 350 RAIDMAX ATX12V power supply

If this isn't enough for you, let me know, I will open my case and try to find some more about it.
