does the processor only come with oem or are there instruction manuals and drivers too. I know that there aren't thermal pastes and there is no cooling option.

OEM. Usually just a little plastic container holding the processor in place, a little foam thing to protect the pins, and the processor. Thats it. No instructions or anything.

An OEM CPU is just the CPU. Nothing else, just the CPU. No heatsink, no fan, no fancy box, no nothing.

No drivers are needed for a CPU. The BIOS detects and passes the info onto Windows that it needs.

In fact, my Retail CPU didnt come with software at all. Did your 4400 come with any software that I didnt get?

well i got my computer from ibuypower.com...big mistake...could have save about 3-400 dollars

edit: if i built my own, which i now wish i did

Do you need instructions for the CPU? I thought you jsut put on the AS5, then lined it up correctly, and put it in the socket. Right?

As long as you know what the heck your doing you shouldn't instructions. Just make sure your buying the correct socket.

From my experience, when you buy EOM as a processor, you get the basic:

CPU
plastic cover
sometimes you get a heatsink and fan
basically you never get the manual=p

Buy the Retail version, it's only about 5-25$ more...
Only get it if your really short on the budget.
