OK. I've got a Compaq Presario SR1020NX. It has XP Home on it, and every once in a while, it will freeze when it boots. By freeze, I mean ti'll load my desktop and icons, but while loading the start-up apps, everything just stops working. You can move the mouse, that's it. Anyways, I restart the computer by holding down the power button, and it's fine next boot. It does this maybe 1 in 20 times.....it's very unlikely to happen more than 1 time a month. Still, it does it, and I want to know why, and how to fix it (if it needs fixing).
BTW- Only thing I've done to this pc is add RAM (another 512 Kingston stick), upgrade the CPU cooler, and add the Video Card. Still, it has been doing this since I bought it, before I added anything.
