External Hard Drive Problems

My friend only has dial-up and cant download any updeates for steam and half-life 2, so he bought an external hard drive and brought it to his mom's office to download the updates cause she has cable internet and when he gets his hard drive back the updates arent in the hard drive.

im posting this at school and my friend jay(read post "barbaqe sause" in off topic for a funny story about him) want me to put a smiely so i hopehes happy

Was this a blank drive or pre formated?

Did he read all instructions and such? Did any drivers come with it?

hes written stuff on this before so im pretty sure he has all the drivers installed but would he need to install the drivers at his moms job too?

If he didn't do that then he should, it would elminate one problem.

But if he could access it from his moms computer then there should be no problem.

Has he tried again or no?
