go with sli(2 7800 gtx 512's) and a nice dual core and ur good to go.

Yeah pick up the FX-60 when it's available

grab like 4 SCSI drives 2 GIG's of $2500 ECC ram...
The $1400 Zalman passive cooling case...

Heck... pick up a Apple Cinema 30" LCd too...

Yeah, forgot to suggest different types of products for a few.

I'd say go SLI with NVidia if you go SLI at all. But really just go with a normal DFI AMD motherboard, and get one 7800GTX 512mb.

I second the buying of the Apple LCD 30" monitor.

2x1GB of OCZ PC3200 Platinum version, or DDR400. Its the same thing.

Case, go with the Cooler Master Stacker of the Thermaltake Armor VA8000.

Athlon 64 X2 4800+
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103544
it's dual core, which will be very useful in future games like UT2007. and you should be able to get minimum 2.6-2.7GHZ on it (that's with stock cooling)

the X2 4800+ performs about the same as the FX-57 in single threaded apps, but about double as good in multi-threaded apps

or an FX-60 in socket M2 if you want to wait

DFI NF4 SLI-DR.

the DFI NF4 boards hold records for overclocking. Asus only matched it recently with its board, but this one is less expensive
but don't get the expert board.

2GB OCZ Platinum PC4000 RAM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227225
this is the fastest 2GB set of RAM out. you should be able to overclock well using these aswell.

the 256MB 7800 GTX's are roughly equal to the X1800 XT's, however the 512MB 7800 GTX's will beat them.

this one's stock overclocked aswell.

Creative X-Fi sound card. it will actually give you a performance increase in gaming over any other sound card, including the Audigy 2's

hard drives: 2x Seagate drives in a Raid 0 (whichever capacity)
2 drives in a Raid 0 will make them faster
plus possibly a WD 36GB or 74GB Raptor drive for your OS and programs to run on

speakers: Logitech Z-5500
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836121120
these are among best speakers out for PC's

monitor:

what you chose before

DVD burners:
2 x LG 4167B drives
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827136071
I have a 4163B, which is an earlier model. it is very fast, very quiet, and burns all types of CD's and DVD's.

printer:

I have the iP4000, and love it. it's fast, quiet, and ink cartridges are cheap.
