IDE Cable

My IDE Cables might be broken (might not have pluged the cables in properly, im not at home so i cant check yet), in which case i need some new ones. Are all IDE Cables the same, or do i need a specific type?

If you find an IDE cable that isn't the right one, I'm going to say that you have some bad luck. Do you need one with a single connection port, or one with 2 for 2 devices?

If you have to buy a new one, go for the round ones.

They are better for air circulation in your case.

definately get a round IDE cable on newegg with 2 connections, plus the one that plugs into the motherboard. Air circulation is going to help your PC stay cool.

Or you could just mod it yourself if you'd rather get a cheaper 4 buck IDE cable at the local store.

You need an IDE cable with 80 wires. A 40 will also work but slower. They only sell the one with 80 wires nowadays so you can't go wrong.
