Monitor turns off

Can some one help

I have
AMD64 3400+
MSI K8N neo
1.5gb Ram Brand new
40GB HDD
AGP HIS x800 xl brand new

When I play games the monitor will swtich off you can still hear the sound and the HDD is going but no sound

I upgraded my grapics card from a Saphire 9600 which also had the same problem.

any ideas would be very well revieved

yeah sorry meant picture am at work and chain of thought got broken there is sound but monitor is in stand by and wont come out

The monitor is a Hyundai image quest

Maybe ur moniter dont support the Resolution

I'm willing to bet your monitor doesn't support the resolution.

my monitors default res is
1280 x 1024 the game is playing in this resolution

I have also tried lowering the res in the game but still have the same problem
