Hey all, I just sold off my value ram and am going to get a 2 gig kit (2x1gig) that I can OC my system fairly well with.

If anyone has any links to fairly good kits from good name brands that fill my needs please post links. I am looking to spend $160 or less. I know that is low and I can't get great stuff but thats the most I can go up to right now. If there is something really good a few bucks over post and I will take a look but try to keep prices that or under. Thanx a ton.

These are 2 links that someone posted in a different thread. Pls add on with other links if you have good suggestions

Edit: hopefully links now fixed

Those two 2X1GB kits look fairly value to me, with heat spreaders.

If you want to OC you'll need a good, expensive kit, certainly in a 2x1GB package.

"gaara, nubius, 003, PZERO" could give you good recommendations.

They'll probably say, "GSKILL" like there puppies...

I didn't quite understand that, are you saying the two links are good or bad? I was thinking the gskill one looked pretty good for me. Anyone have other suggestions?

YAY! you fixed the links

ok back to the RAM, im even going with the G.SKILL extreme series cause PZERO said he got like 260-270 with it. but you could also go for the OCZ performance for a few bucks less than the G.SKILL extreme

G.SKILL Extreme:

OCZ Performance:

but you gonna need to go at least 200$ good overclocking RAM so just save another 40$ or ask someone who knows more than me.

Thanx for the info and links zucchini, but i was still wondering why the g.skill extreme is so much more expensive than the link that i posted. Is there something wrong with the g.skill in my link that i am not noticing? I know very little about ram i am afraid.

Blah. never heard of the 2GBNS, by the looks of it looks like some cheap valueram disguised in heatspreaders like the corsair XMS ram !!

You should invest in some nice ram LOL so you dont have to run a memory divider ;)

obviously PZERO has been puffing on the crack pipe tonight.. lol

There are different part numbers of the G.Skill 2GB kits of RAM. 2GBZX and 2GBHX overclock the best. 2GBHX is a little more expensive, but usually, you can have tighter timings with it.

See I was right. 003 would recommend the RAM that I inserted the PICTURE OF. the 2GBHX's....
