speakers from audio jack? or speakers from the inside tower?

my sister had a problem with her old amd athlon 800 mhz computer before similar to your problem i guess, it wouldnt stop beeping altho there was nothing wrong with it, in the end all they did was rip out the speaker that was in_ the tower, and everything was solved heh =p

It sounds like the beeping is an alarm, either due to a overheating CPU or a CPU fan that has stoppped or is spinning slowly..

A lot of motherboard have these built in beep to warm users that there is some sort of hardware fault.

Check in the bios for such options..

Ebelthite

ebelthite may be rite .. but then it could also be an OS based issue ..

U don't hafta rip out the speaker .. there's an alternative way

Right Click on my computer > Click Manage> Device manager

Click on View>Show hidden devices
Now under Non-Plug n' Play Drivers > Beep
Right clickon it n' uninstall it .... or simply stop the service.

You sure it's not some thing to do with the anti virus. Work's Server Beeps every time there is a virus infected mail coming in.

And you can bet with W32/mydoom, it's been doing that a lot lately.

could be an antivirus or firewall prog, on my PC Sygate beeps when it blocks hackers, EMS Free Surfer beeps when it blocks a popup, and AntivirXP beeps when it finds a virus.

When my comp overheats it get a long whiny beep that keeps going until the comp freezes
