I'm trying to decide whether I should get the G7 for the MX1000 for gaming and general usage. The G7 is nice but it expensive for a mouse and there are features that I would never use like instant resolution changing. The thing I'm most interested in about the G7 is the fact that it does not go into standby if I don't move it around constantly. Does the MX1000 have a sleep state that it enters if its is not constantly in motion? If it does can it be turned off? I know that if there was a lag in movement from coming out of sleep, it would iritate me to no end. Anyone have any thoughts about the two mice? I'm definatly getting either the G7 or the MX1000; no more corded mice for me.

I'm not getting a corded mouse due to the way my room is laid out. My computer is off to the side of my desk and it would be very incovenient if not impossible to route a mouse cable from my desk to the back of the comp. So its wireless for me. Keyboard cables wont be a problem since I wont be moving the keyboard around.

G5 for sure I love that thing, well this gaming center I go to has em and I love em :)

I'm using the mx1000 the battery indicator shuts down when idle but unlike other cordless mice I've used there is NO lag on this thing :) works better than most of the corded mice I've had. batteries last me about 10 days before i set it on the charger overnight . Hope that helps

Ive had both the MX1000 and the G7 and i must say i prefer the G7 anyday. I like the feel of it. its light and fits into your hand well. The batteries are a little on the light side. I get about 8-10 straight hours out of them, but it comes with 2 and a quick charger that can fill one in about 2 hours so aside from the manual swap there is no downside to it.

the hot swappable batteries is good, because you don't have to wait for it to charge once it's run out.

aye29, did you design parts of the F-22?
that's my favourite aeroplane...

G7 is a gaming mouse. if you don't play games, get the MX1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

gaming has nothing to do with why the G7 is better.
hot-swappable batteries, doesn't cut out to save batteries, a better feel, and it's better weighted
although granted, being better weighted, and not cutting out is more useful in games than most things, but it does help in general use also

anyway, I don't think the G7 costs much more than the MX-1000
