When I want RAM to run in dual channel do both sticks of ram need to be have the same timings and be from the same company? Or is it enough that both sticks of RAM are PC3200 and DDR400. Because before buying another stick of RAM I want to know what to buy.
Right now I have 512mb of Patriot Extreme RAM running at PC3200 DDR400 and timings are 2-3-2-5.

Identical sticks are best.

I do believe that they have to be the same speed and size. i would say that the timings should match as well.

Alright good---they don't sell Patriot at Amazon or Compusa so I need to find a match. (I have gift certificates to those places)

memory

I tried the crucial memory thing and most of the RAM that was in my price range didn't look so great. What if I was to buy the same exact stick that I have now from Newegg? Would that work?
Because right now I have 1 Patriot Extreme 512mb---if I buy another one wouldn't that be able to work in dual channel?

Yest it work well, without a problema :D .

But it have to be the exact one that you have.
Anyway i think another could work, but don;t take chances. ;)
