urge to build

I was so close to buying a dell XPS, but this forum saved my life!
Im still waiting for ebuyer to deliver my components, and I am looking forward to it.

As for the money making, its a good idea.
Build a cheap system for about £400, Sell it for £499, with a nice little ''Anti Virus, and many more Software packages included'' Tag (cough Keygens cough)

I know a lot of people that know nothing about computers, and are looking to buy a computer just for browsing the web ect.

i was thinking of getting basic info from the person (what they need the Pc for, whats the maximum budget, Etc) then building them whatever i can for what they need and what they wanna spend

my first comp i built i ended up sellin it before i got to do really anything to it/with it. after i got everything setup and running i installed norton woks (firewall, antivir, ect.) and a few other little programs and friend is like "hey i need a new computer willin to sell me that one?" so i sold it to him for a little profit and started again this time with a few difference/upgrades. and after this one is done and built i know that im gonna want to build another one. stuff is fun and addicting

exactly.. except i would never sell mine unless i had enough money to make the same exact one except with an X2 or an FX

well he offered me quite a bit more than what everything cost me. even after i told him how much it cost to build he still offered so much. so **** with the extra money i can start over and go with better components. and know what i did wrong and what i could have upgraded and get better results. so its gonna up end working out in the end

that is very true... i hope i can find some people who would want one... hope i can compete with DELL's top of the line construction and great pricing

anything you build you can price it $1k over what it cost to build and still be underpriced compared to dell and i dont think "dell" and "top of the line construction" belong in the same sentence
